Making a change…
It’s been quite some time since I’ve written anything here. That’s the problem with employment and a busy life – keeps you from doing the things that you love the most.
The past two weekends I’ve been out caching with various members of my family. It’s been awhile since I’ve been out caching. I’ve been doing the Munzee thing lately and realized just how much I have missed caching. There’s still fun with Munzee’s, but geocaching remains to be my favorite. With Munzee, you scan the tag and move on to the next one. With geocaching, you have a more interactive experience with finding the cache, as well as those who have come before you. A trackable of some sort always makes my day – I enjoy helping other cachers move along their trackable – traveling the globe vicariously through a metal tag or a cast coin.
I’ve also been busy with getting my business up and running. Working a full time job and starting your own business is tough to do. Leaves little room for having any time to do anything fun. These recent caching weekends have ignited that desire once again to make the time to get outside and get back in the game.
Yesterday, I was reading through some old posts from this blog, and came across the video I made about Geocaching Near Historical Locations. I really miss having the time to make videos – amateur at best, but I do enjoy them. The bottom line is, all it really takes is figuring out your priorities. Easier said than done, I know … but somehow, I need to gain control of my life. Some stuff is just going to have to wait. The proverbial bus could very well hit me tomorrow – and I sure as hell don’t want to think that I’ve wasted my days being a good employee for a company that honestly doesn’t care about me. I’d much rather be out making great memories and finding places I would never had known about, had it not been for geocaching.
Priorities. It’s time for a change.
